Cutting

A CNC cutting table is used to cut glass with regular shapes and low thicknesses. A diamond wheel placed on the cutting head is used to incise the plate surface. After the glass plate is cut into the desired shapes and sizes, it is conveyed to the breakout table where it is divided into individual pieces. Shaped and/or thicker glass is cut by means of water jet technology. This uses a mix of water, abrasive granules and 4000-atmosphere air.

Grinding

Grinding is the process by which irregularities are removed from the edges of glass that has been cut. We use straight grinding machines and double edging machines to grind straight sides. These are equipped with diamond and polishing wheels that level out the glass edge in different ways. Based on the type of wheel we use, we can obtain a polished or a rough edge. Bevelling is a type of inclined grinding which uses diamond wheels and resinoids mounted on a tilting unit.

Shaped grinding

The grinding of shaped glass is executed by means of CNC work stations equipped with diamond and polishing wheels. Depending on the type of wheels that are used, it is possible to obtain polished flat edges or rough flat edges. On glasses ranging from 15 mm to 19 mm in thickness, bull-nose grinding is also possible.

Drilling

It is executed by means of manual drills or of CNC multi-head drilling machines equipped with diamond core drill bits of different diameter. Water jet technology is used to obtain holes of greater dimensions and with straight and shaped edges.

Bending

We use a tunnel or a static furnace to bend our glass. The glass plate is placed on a suitable unit inside the furnace. When it reaches the required temperature, it softens and, as a result of gravity, it lies on the bottom of the unit and takes its shape.
